As humans, we are all inseparably connected to the environment and other people. They shape us throughout our lives, help us grow and influence our ways of thinking and doing.
As a mainly documentary photographer who has a preference for candid moments, I usually don’t create specific scenes or backgrounds for portraits but rather take the challenge of working with what’s available to me at a given place and time.
I like to explore and express the relation between the person and the environment and capture both as a whole, showing the inseparable connection.
When working for some newspapers and magazines, this isn’t only a preference but a must because there’s no time to do long shootings and because the environment is an essential part of the story.
Throughout many years of working as editorial photographer I acquired the ability to quickly evaluate the environment, find optimal spots for photographing and make the best out of the situation.
